Open Position
Grant Writer
Part-time and project-based. You would find and win the funding that keeps our free community programming running along 8th Avenue, and send the monthly member newsletter.
Pay
$20.00 per hour.
Schedule
Project-based. Hours agreed for each grant before work starts, with no guaranteed minimum.
Location
Primarily remote, with one to two onsite sessions per project in Homestead, PA.
Reports to
The 1 Valley Social Board of Directors, who approve each project.
The Role
What you would do.
- Find grant opportunities that fit our mission and the 8th Avenue corridor.
- Write and submit complete applications, working with the board and Treasurer on budgets.
- Track deadlines, submissions and any reporting that follows an award.
- Draft and send the monthly member newsletter through Mailchimp.
Qualifications
What we are looking for.
- Grant writing experience, with samples you can show us.
- Clear, persuasive writing and clean grammar.
- Organized and self-directed — you manage your own deadlines.
- Comfortable with submission portals, spreadsheets and Mailchimp, or quick to learn them.
- Nonprofit or community development experience a plus. Pittsburgh area preferred.
